"From Discarded Christmas Trees to Crosses"
I believe my work as a sculptor is visual communication, conveying my perspectives and philosophies on things and events to society while remaining conscious of artistic etiquette.
Through my sculptures, I create with the intention of honoring or mourning the value of the life and energy of the materials I come into contact with. Therefore, I place great importance on finding a story or narrative within the material.
This time, I was inspired by "used Christmas trees." In Europe and the United States, many people go out and buy trees around Christmas time and decorate their homes for the end of the year. For this reason, countless trees are planted every year, only to be discarded at the start of the new year. In the Czech Republic, where I live, a country that is sensitive to ecology and recycling, this tree is somewhat of a taboo. Incidentally, the fir tree in this work was my family's Christmas tree.
The "Christmas T" in the title evokes the "T" in "tree" or "trash," and refers to the less commonly known T-shaped cross."d.2024" (Death. 2024) evokes the fact that trees die on Christmas, the birthday of Christ.
Many of my concepts use binary oppositions and dualism to show different perspectives. In this work, the tree was originally cut into two pieces of equal length and developed into two separate pieces. The composition is horizontal and vertical, with one of the horizontal pieces simply having the bark peeled off the outside and the core hollowed out. The vertical piece represents the exterior, and is a sculpture that emerges from the tree during the production process. By firing the artificial shape, it also combines a natural form.「Christmas_T_d.2024」

~廃棄されるクリスマスツリーから十字架へ~ 　
彫刻家としての仕事は、社会に自身のモノやコトの観方や哲学などを芸術マナーを意識しながら伝えるビジュアルコミュニケーションだと思います。 私は彫刻行為を通して、触れるその材質の命やエネルギーなどの価値を敬んだり、弔うつもりで制作しています。ですから、その材料にストーリーや物語を見出すことを重要視しています。 今回は、「使い終わったクリスマスツリー」から着想を得ました。欧米では、クリスマス時期になると多くの人がツリーを買いに行き、各家庭内で年末を飾る風習があります。そのために、毎年数えきれない程の木が植林され、そして年明けには捨てられていきます。私が住むチェコでは、エコロジーやリサイクルなどに敏感な国ですが、このツリーについては少しタブー視されている部分があります。ちなみに本作品のもみの木は私の家族のクリスマスツリーでした。 タイトルにある「クリスマスT」は、「Tree（木）」もしくは「Trush（ごみ）」のTの様であり、一般にはあまり知られていない、T字の十字架を意味しています。 「d.2024」＝「没.2024年」は、クリスマスのキリストの誕生日に、樹木が亡くなるという事実を想起させています。 私のコンセプトの多くは、二項対立や二元論の方法を用いて、他角度の視点を見せる手法を取ります。今回は、元は一本のツリーを、二本の同じ長さに切られたところから展開されています。横と縦の構成で、片方の横棒は、外側は樹皮を剥いただけで、内側の芯部分をくり抜いています。縦棒は外側を、制作過程で、木から立ち顕れるイメージを造形しています。人工的な造形を火で焼いたことにより、自然的造形性も掛け合わせています。
