carving No.2

With the passing of time, all things inevitably undergo a process of transformation. With this transformation, an object acquires new meaning and value, yet essentially it is still a manifestation of the same material, albeit with an altered form.
In this piece, I have carved wood into the shape of a dried physalis flower, also known as a Chinese lantern flower.
The waste material is placed next to the physalis.

2012 / wood, glass / 27×10×16cm
