In this piece, I have created a mirror-image replica of a piece of driftwood and placed it next to the original.
By doing this I am juxtaposing the beauty of a naturally formed object with the beauty that a human is capable of creating. Both are a manifestation of a force of nature. By using driftwood, something commonly perceived as rubbish,
I am also making an ironic statement regarding human attitudes towards beauty.

2016 / driftwood, rafter / 80×45×35cm
